800 – Prepayment Meters - Card Operations
Its is in operation with a number a large utility companies in England and other parts of the world.
Its very simple to use for the consumer and has tamperproof facilities 'in designed’
It is manufactured to ISOEN1436 an international standard of high repute.
It is a high quality product with a ‘low ownership cost’ Types Of Card
Two types are used
Value Card
Sold too the consumer by the landlord/operator
This card downloads credits of electricity onto the meter – 20kWh’s
These cards are disposable and used once only.
(Other card values are available on special request values from 1kWh too a maximum of 50kWh’s )
Program Cards
Are used by the landlord/operator to change the operation of the Series 800 or zero the meter of credits. Program cards are reusable and can be used time and time again.
The Series 800 operates by inserting a magnetic striped card into the card reader, the card reader electronics,
operates in the following format.
A – Card Inserted
B – Card Reader verifies as a good card
C – Value credited to meter
D – Code erased from card
E – Card returned – dispose of card Emergency Credit Facility
Should consumers run out of credit on the meter at an inconvient time,
an Emergency Credit Facility is an available function.
Upon running out of electricity – the consumer presses the button located on the front of the Series 800 Meter.
This allows I card of credit (20kWh’s of electric) to be added to the meter.
This is collected back, when the next value card is inserted.
Should the consumer not add more credit before the end of the Emergency Credit period.
Two cards would be required too switch back on the electric.The default Emergency Credit Value is 20kWh’s.

Accommodation for different tariffs is available. Error Codes
Assist the operator with smooth system running.
Should an incorrect operation status exist an ERROR CODE is displayed
Error 1 – Used card or Card Reader Head Dirty
Error 3 - Wrong Area Code
Error 5 – Card reader entry point has something jammed in it.
Error 7 – Tampering Code – A tampering event has taken place. this code status cannot be removed
